Week 6

  • Transactional - common relationship
  • Transformational - complex powerful, listens to needs (more on the vision)
  • Distributed leadership - collective interaction
  • Agile and servant leadership - listen, empathy, number of different styles
  • Tu Rangatira - stitches in the cloak - lots of different roles, leadership and management not the same
  • Situational - adaptive to the task, different styles over time

We looked in detail at transformational and created this doc with links and information about this leadership theory: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MOQZfbM8pcm8FregQmFXLF-FpHTRs_qc0JDyZeb7ggM/edit#

  • Self awareness - confident, strengths and weaknesses
  • Self-regulation - think before acting, trustworthy, open to change
  • Motivation - driven, optimistic
  • Empathy

Empathy vs Sympathy
  • Empathy - feeling with people, connection

My image I made to show empathy, sympathy and compassion:
